Could you act as a lay Quality Assurance Visitor for the Nursing and Midwifery Council?

29th July 2022
NMC are looking for members of the public to support them in quality assuring nursing, midwifery and nursing associate education and training in the UK. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity.

Lay visitors bring a non-clinical perspective to the quality assurance of education. The purpose of the role is to bring knowledge and experience that, combined with a non-clinical perspective, provides impartiality, an independent external view and a broader basis for inquiries and judgements. You should have the interests of the public, patients, service users and carers, as well as students, as your main area of focus.

The opportunity is open to all members of the public with the right skills, and they are especially keen to hear from individuals from minority ethnic communities, those who identify as LGBT+, and/or people with disabilities. Having a diverse lay visitor group is important to NMC and means that varying perspectives can be brought to the task.

This role will attract a day payment. To find out more by emailing Mott MacDonald, the organisation who carry out quality assurance activities on behalf of the NMC:
