Organ Donation Deemed Consent Bill

18th February 2022

The Organ and Tissue (Deemed Consent) Bill was introduced by the Minister of Health on 5 July 2021. The purpose of the Bill is to increase the current rate of consent for organ donation to proceed after a person’s death, by changing the current system to one where adults should opt-out on the Organ Donor Register (ODR) if they do not wish to become an organ donor when they die.

As the Bill has recently passed the final stages and will become law in Spring 2023, the Patient and Client Council wish to recruit a small number of people to join a focus group to discuss creative promotional material and messaging concepts for the organ donation law change.
