As we take steps towards normalising visiting in care homes have been implemented since May 2021, in line with ‘Visiting with Care – A Pathway’, we want to invite families to safely share their experiences of how each stage of the process is working for them. This feedback will influence and shape decisions as the restrictions are reduced further. We want to give family members an opportunity to share their current experience of the Care Home.
This is the first Care Home Pulse Check to be tested in Northern Ireland and it is anticipated will be issued to families every four weeks as part of a constant conversation in relation to normalising visiting in care homes. The first survey relates to the experience of visiting during the phase of ‘Cautious First Steps’. Follow up surveys will invite them to tell us how they found visiting under ‘Gradual Easing’, ‘Further Easing’ and ‘Looking to the Future’.
This is an anonymous survey to support you to be open and honest in response. As it is anonymous, it is important you do not include names of the home, residents or staff. At the end, you can choose to give your name and address should you wish to receive future surveys directly.
The Patient and Client Council and the Public Health Agency would like to hear from you about your experiences visiting your loved ones in a Care Home.
