Welcome PCC New Chief Executive Meadhbha Monaghan

24th February 2023

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Meadhbha Monaghan as the new PCC Chief Executive who will take up post in mid-March 2023. Meadhbha joined the PCC in 2020, as Head of Operations and successfully guided the organisation through a period of significant change and practice development.

She takes up post at an exciting time for the PCC, having set out an ambitious agenda with the new PCC Statement of Strategic Intent and the development of new models of practice in advocacy, engagement and policy impact. Meadhbha will lead the PCC as we all navigate the incredible challenge and change required in our health and social care services. She is passionate about addressing issues of injustice within health and social care. Her commitment to relationship-based engagement will drive a passion for public involvement in decision making to bring about positive change in Northern Ireland’s Health and Social Care System.

Previously Meadhbha was Programme Manager for Homelessness and Refugee Services for Extern where she led on the development of refugee resettlement services as part of the NI UK Syrian Vulnerable Person’s Relocation Scheme. Meadhbha has over ten years’ experience in the homelessness, harm reduction and refugee sectors in the UK, ROI and in the US; providing frontline support services to adults, families and ‘at risk’ youth, and engaging at a strategic level in policy development, service design, implementation and improvement.

May I ask you to join with us in welcoming Meadhbha to her post and we look forward to working with you.
