Patient and Client Council wins prestigious national award for Support in the Community work
The Patient and Client Council (PCC) has been named ‘Team of the Year’ at the Picker Experience Network National Awards in Birmingham.

The award recognises the PCC’s Support in the Community work, which has significantly enhanced how advocacy and support are delivered by taking services directly into local communities. Through partnership working, and the development of a ‘network of networks’ approach, with organisations already embedded within local communities, the PCC team has provided face-to-face support to help individuals navigate complex health systems, raise their voices, and find early, meaningful resolutions to issues that once felt overwhelming.
Meadhbha Monaghan, PCC Chief Executive said: “We are extremely proud to receive this national recognition. The award is a tribute to our team’s compassion and commitment, but most importantly, it reflects the real difference PCC Support in the Community has made to people’s lives.
“This approach is designed to reach people who may not usually access our services, helping to reduce health inequalities by bringing advocacy into community spaces. In doing so, we ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to access our services and have their voice heard.”
“I would also like to congratulate Ross, one of our Engagement Platform members, who was named a finalist in the Patient Contribution Individual Award category. This is an outstanding achievement and highlights the strength and value of public participation in shaping health and social care services.”
