We want a health and social care service that is actively shaped by the needs and experience of the public.

We believe that you are an expert in the care that you have received and this knowledge should be used by decision makers to improve existing services and help shape new ones.

We offer opportunities for you to get involved in your Health and Social Care system.

By joining our Membership Scheme we will keep you up to date with what is going on across Health and Social Care (HSC) in Northern Ireland and opportunities to influence services for the better.

We also offer opportunities for people with shared experiences to come together with HSC decision makers to improve the services of today and shape the services of tomorrow.

What is an Engagement Platform?

An Engagement Platform is a space to bring together a group of people, with a common theme or interest and lived experience, to work together and make change in health and social care.

Engagement Platforms allow participants to communicate their experiences and thoughts with the PCC, as well as being able to share their views directly with decision-makers in health and social care.

New ‘Infinity Room’ opens in memory of two-year-old Noah McAleese

The McAleese family from Dunloy, who tragically lost their son Noah (2) in a farming accident in November 2022, have helped open a new bereavement support room at the Causeway Hospital.

After Noah’s passing, his parents wanted to use their own experience to bring about improvements for other families attending hospital under similar circumstances to them. The family has worked closely with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust and the Patient & Client Council to make this happen.
